Assistant Professor of Human Services
The Department of Human Services invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Human Services beginning August 2021. Duties include didactic, experiential, and participatory instruction with a curriculum that focuses on clinical and enrichment experiences. The faculty role includes teaching undergraduate courses, academic advising, field placement supervision, agency visits, and service to the department, college, university, and community.
The successful candidate will have an M.S. or a Ph.D. in Human Services or Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy. A minimum of two years of undergraduate teaching experience and three years working in the field of Human Services is required. Candidates must have previous internship supervision experience. Priority will be given to HS-BCP certified candidates. Employment is contingent on a satisfactory background records check and available funding.
The Department of Human Services, which resides in the College of Professional Studies, is a clinical program that offers a Bachelor’s Degree and a minor. There are over 200 students in the program. Students complete 360 clinical hours with community partners. The department partners with over 70 clinical programs in Northeastern Indiana for internship placements. Non-profit Human Service programs are the second leading employer in Allen County in Indiana.
