Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks individuals to join our Safer Badgers Program.

As part of our overall COVID-19 safety precautions, we are utilizing Badger Wellness Ambassadors at the entrances to many of our campus buildings. As a Badger Wellness Ambassador, your role is to ensure university students, employees, and guests are compliant with the campus COVID-19 public health requirements in order to gain access to the building. Badger Wellness Ambassadors will also remind people to wear a face covering, stay physically distanced, and if necessary, refer them to appropriate resources to meet compliance standards.

Work settings may include entrances to buildings that house a variety of administrative, instructional, academic support, research, and student services. The specific buildings that are part of this program are still being finalized.

- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand verbal instructions in English
- Can travel to and from campus work locations
- Can use technology, such as a smartphone, laptop and tablet
- Can communicate clear instructions
- Experience working with customers
- Can engage in calm and clear discussion around difficult conversations
- Must be able to reinforce public health behaviors and provide resources

Additional Information:

This is a forward-facing, on-site position. Work is expected to last through the spring semester with the possibility of extension through the summer and fall semesters. Physical demands include standing and sitting for extended periods of time both indoors and outdoors.

Successful applicants are responsible for ensuring their eligibility to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, a foreign national authorized to work in the United States without need of employer sponsorship) on or before the effective date of appointment.

Work Schedule:

Full and part-time positions are available.
Shifts will range between 6:00am to 10:00pm daily and will be at least four hours in length.
A minimum of 20 hours/week is required.

This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding

Salary:

$15.00 HOURLY
