Job Summary
We are encouraging applications for a Postdoctoral Associate to conduct research in cryogenic electro-optics, including developing new photonic techniques to deliver, measure, and extract microwave signals at temperatures below 100 mK.

Who We Are
The Professional Research Experience Program (PREP) is a special partnership between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the University of Colorado Boulder. PREP provides research opportunities to CU undergraduate and graduate students, as well as researchers with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in NIST labs to gain research experience alongside NIST scientists.
The particular group that needs a researcher is the Optical Frequency Measurements Group under the Time and Frequency Division at NIST.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Design and conduct experiments at cryogenic temperatures in the use of electro-optic sampling, optical-to-microwave conversion, and microwave-to-optical conversion.

What We Require
- PhD in physics, optics or equivalent; and
- Experience with electro-optics and ultrafast optics.
What We Would Like You To Have
- Experience with cryogenics and high-speed photodetection; and
- Experience with noise metrology.
