The Director is responsible for assisting the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs in implementing the educational mission of HCC.  The position requires the supervision and evaluation of the faculty and staff members in the division as related to the standards and expectations regarding load and annual performance reviews.  Duties include implementing activities from academic, strategic, and annual plans regarding facilities, curriculum, staffing, communication, budgeting, credit scheduling, and outcomes assessment, while following Academic Affairs goals and initiatives, and adhering to HCC policies, procedures, and guidelines. 


Education and Experience – Master’s degree in English, Arts or Humanities or related field required/ doctorate preferred; minimum five years related experience to include teaching, management, supervision, and curricular experience with a minimum of two years equivalent teaching experience and three years of personnel supervisory experience in one or more settings. Experience managing performing arts operations and being engaged in related fundraising a plus. Specifically, some experience with faculty observations and evaluation, curriculum development, engagement with Student Learning Outcomes Assessment, and supervision and budget management.

Skills and abilities - Strong organizational, advising, and counseling skills. A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and administrators required.
