Job Summary
Henderson Library. The Discovery Services Assistant provides assistance with projects related to auditing, troubleshooting, and enhancing resource discovery and access across all supported collections and platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Works with all department functional teams, faculty, and staff as appropriate to develop and conduct all regular and ad hoc resource access audits.
  • Assists with discovery-related enhancement projects as assigned.
  • Manages student assistants in support of assigned projects.
  • Provides general customer service support for the eTeam in the absence of the Discovery Services Librarian.
  • Provides dedicated customer service support for assigned projects.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Assists with monitoring, auditing, and processing changes to electronic collections, portfolios, and resource assets in Alma, LibGuides, and other supported platforms.
  • Assists with monitoring, auditing, and processing changes to electronic portfolios reported by ExLibris, EBSCO and other update channels.
  • Assists with batch loading of bibliographic and holdings records in Alma, EDS, and other supported platforms.
  • Assists in metadata enhancement projects as assigned.
  • Monitors and reports platform updates and system status notifications.
  • Monitors eTeam tickets and participates in triage and resolution of troubleshooting requests.
  • Assists with updating and maintaining internal and external FAQ and System Status content, and troubleshooting-related protocols and decision trees.
  • Assists with discovery-related usability testing, and survey and ethnographic research.

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Required Experience
  • One or more years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in a library

Proposed Salary
$25,500 - $25,950
