Brite Divinity School, located at Texas Christian University, invites applications for a position in New Testament at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. Teaching load is four courses per year at masters and doctoral levels, along with added responsibilities for doctoral students. Courses include advanced seminars in one’s specialty, along with introductory level New Testament surveys, exegetical interpretation courses, and courses in Greek language. We seek candidates who demonstrate awareness of the role of ideology and power in biblical interpretation. Content area is open. We are especially open to applicants who demonstrate through their research specialization in one or more of the following approaches: gender and sexuality studies, queer theory, critical race theory, economics/poverty studies, ecological studies, decolonial/postcolonial studies and other approaches that consider the ethical effects of biblical interpretation. Brite Divinity School is an ecumenical seminary related to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with a commitment to diversity in its faculty, staff, and student body. The school’s faculty and administration support scholarly research to further the mission of both church and academy.
