Indiana University Northwest is seeking to fill a 10-month, non-tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Radiologic Sciences at the rank of Clinical Lecturer or Clinical Assistant Professor to begin May 1, 2021, with responsibilities for teaching courses in the Radiation Therapy concentration within the BS Radiologic Sciences/Medical Imaging Technology Program.

Teaching Responsibilities:

 

  • Teaching 6 to 9 credit hours of coursework per semester to include didactic and laboratory components of the curriculum to include:
    • Developing instructional materials such as course unit plan, general and specific objectives, audiovisual aids, laboratory activities, and evaluation tools.
    • Assessing course effectiveness through formative and summative evaluations.
  • Assisting in administration of one clinical education course and coordinate student activities related to clinical education to include:
    • Regularly visiting the clinical affiliates to observe student progress and provide the clinical faculty with the opportunity to discuss the overall performance of the students.
    • Revising and distributing clinical education syllabi and corresponding clinical forms to the clinical affiliates.
    • Assisting in the clinical faculty in interpreting the clinical education policies and procedures.
    • Enforcing the policies of the Program, documenting violations and disciplinary action taken, as needed.
    • Organizing and coordinating seminars and other learning activities related to clinical education.

 

Service Responsibilities:

 

  • Serving on department, division, and campus committees.
  • Participating in community outreach efforts.
  • Participating in department and faculty organization meetings.
  • Assisting in student recruitment efforts.
  • Participating in professional organizations and learning activities to enhance both personal and professional development.

 

Program Administration:

  • Revising and keeping current the curriculum to meet accreditation requirements.
  • Collecting and analyzing data related to program assessment to meet accreditation requirements.
  • Meeting regularly with program faculty in order to maintain continuity through the program.
  • Overseeing student admission process.
  • Maintaining current records on students regarding clinical procedures, dosimetry reports, attendance, etc.
  • Serving as a liaison between the program and affiliating radiation oncology personnel.
  • Developing and monitoring an annual program budget.

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advising current students regarding their clinical and/or didactic performance and documenting, as needed.
  • Advising prospective students on the academic and professional aspects of the program.
  • Providing input concerning evaluation of the clinical faculty.
  • Coordinating the student evaluations of didactic and clinical coursework.

Required Qualifications:

          Clinical Lecturer:

  • Baccalaureate degree, with the commitment to complete a Master’s Degree in a related academic discipline with 3 years of appointment.
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in radiation therapy.

 

Clinical Assistant Professor:

  • Master’s Degree in a related academic discipline
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in radiation therapy.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

          Clinical Lecturer/Clinical Assistant Professor:

  • Two years of Radiologic Sciences teaching experience.

Salary is commensurate with experience and education.
