Professor of Management

The University of South Alabama invites applications for a distinguished professor of management to teach doctoral, MBA, and undergraduate courses in leadership, organizational behavior, and related areas beginning Fall 2021. Preferred applicants will have a research record commensurate with professor rank. Applicants with an exemplary record of research, teaching, and service will be eligible for the Ben May endowed chair. Applicants at the associate professor level with substantial research productivity and teaching excellence also will be considered.

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Management, Organizational Behavior, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field from an AACSB or similarly accredited institution. Qualifications should include:

• Evidence of a strong research record commensurate with the rank.
• Research, teaching, and service interests related to areas such as organizational behavior and leadership.
• Evidence of excellence in teaching and the ability to teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate, MBA, and doctoral levels.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of appointment.
• Must have excellent organizational and communication skills

The University of South Alabama is a comprehensive urban university with an enrollment of over 14,000 students located in Mobile, Alabama. The City of Mobile was recently designated  one of the top twelve manufacturing communities by the U.S. Department of Commerce with such businesses as Airbus, Austal USA, Kimberly Clark, Evonik, the Alabama State Docks, and many others. The metropolitan area has a population of approximately 600,000 and is centrally located along the gulf coast. The Mitchell College of Business offers undergraduate degrees in business, an MBA and MACC, and a Ph.D. in Management, Marketing, and Data Analytics. All programs are accredited by AACSB International.
