Position Summary:

The Outreach Specialist will work as part of a larger team to develop strategies and programming to address the opioid and stimulant crisis in the Great Lakes region of the Midwestern United States. The incumbent will lead teams in developing behavioral, technical and training assistance as part of a federal Opioid State Targeted Response Assistance project. With limited supervision, the incumbent will assure that the assigned project activities, data management, and project deliverables are achieved.

This position will include travel once UW travel restrictions are lifted.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required in a related field

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Minimum of 2 years professional experience working as part of a collaborative project with non-profit and/or state agencies (such as addiction treatment providers, community-based organizations, and single state agencies). Professional experience with Stimulants and knowledge of the addiction treatment field is desired.

Must show demonstrated leadership, self-confidence, creativity, initiative, attention to detail and the ability to work independently to manage and coordinate a team-oriented environment. Incumbent must also have excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to research and synthesize information in both written and oral form.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs expected.
