Job Description:

The Coordinator, Student Accounting is a full-time professional/managerial position. The Coordinator, Student Accounting will assist the Bursar with student accounting and collections related procedures and operations, including selection and training of employees for three Cashier’s Offices. The successful candidate will supervise the daily operations of departmental Accounting Specialists and Senior Accounting Clerks; all collection processes including receipting, recording, invoicing, and processing delinquent accounts; be responsible for the review and maintenance of internal control procedures relating to student accounting and collections; and provide assistance to the Bursar with staffing requirements including selection and training of employees for the Cashier’s Offices at all campuses. Additionally, the Coordinator, Student Accounting will assist in the preparation of statistical reports and analyses; and serve as liaison between Information Technology Services and Cashier’s Office in reference to computer network related issues. This position reports to the Bursar.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree and major coursework in accounting or an associate’s degree and five years of progressively responsible accounting experience. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer supervisory experience; experience in fund governmental accounting, and accounts receivable; demonstrated experience in Microsoft Word and Excel, and automated accounting systems.

SALARY $37,440.00
