Position Summary

Inviting applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) in the Department of Information Science in the Graduate School of Education, University at Buffalo, the State University of New York ( SUNY )

We seek an outstanding scholar with a commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to effectively deliver course content in our online master’s programs. Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching four classes in both fall and spring semesters; 
  • Advising Information Science master’s students;
  • Participating in professional activities and serving on department, school, and university committees; and
  • Contributing to the intellectual community of the Department.

Minimum Qualifications

An earned doctorate in Information Science (or equivalent) at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience in any of the following areas: school librarianship (K-12), information services for children and youth, multicultural materials and services, and information literacy for youth;
  • A record of successful teaching of students from underrepresented minority ( URM ) populations;
  • Experience or demonstrated ability in the design and delivery of online courses;
  • Research activities related to information and URM populations;
  • A record of active engagement with the information profession
