Starting Salary: $ 35,777.00

Reports To: Associate Director, Student Involvement

Job Summary

The program manager for fraternity and sorority life is responsible for ensuring that the direction of social fraternities and sororities is consistent with the mission of the university, while contributing to the overall quality of campus life.

Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators

The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibility that will be required of positions given this title. Job Responsibilities and Execution

  • Coordinates fraternity and sorority life education and administration, creating and implementing trainings and events as necessary
  • Provides on‐going assessment and data management for all programs, activities and individuals affiliated with fraternity and sorority life
  • Manages all recruitment, rush, intake processes and new member activities, to include activities and aesthetics of Fraternity and Sorority Life week
  • Reviews, implements and enforces policies and procedures for social fraternities and sororities life matters
  • Advises social fraternities, sororities and councils on university policies and procedures and local, state and federal regulations to ensure adherence
  • Markets fraternity and sorority life and other campus-wide activities and programming to students and members of the campus community
  • Negotiates and finalizes contracts for entertainers and vendors
  • Selects, trains, and supervises student employees, including the disciplinary and termination processes
  • Prepares and manages fraternity and sorority life budget,, reviewing all event and funding requests from social fraternity and sororities
  • Manages all judicial affairs as it relates to fraternity and sorority life, coordinating with disciplinary staff as needed
  • Establishes fraternity and sorority life programs that intertwine student development and leadership philosophies

  • Supports the mission of the university and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
  • Models, supports and holds others accountable to university values – integrity, dedication, excellence, creativity and teamwork
  • Supports Lindenwood students by providing experiences that allow for student development outside of the classroom


Communication Teamwork and Collaboration

  • Develops and maintains relationships with alumni and local and national headquarter leaders for each social fraternity and sorority
  • Participates in collaborative planning for campus-wide events such as Homecoming and Family Day


Job may require other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.

  • Bachelor’s degree required in the area of higher education, student affairs, human resources management, business or a related field
  • 1 year professional experience in fraternity and sorority life
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • Knowledge of Interfraternity Council (IFC), Panhellenic Association (PHA), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) policies, procedures and current issues

  • Ability to effectively resolve conflicts

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective relationships with faculty, students and staff.

  • Knowledge of student development and leadership theories with the ability to apply them appropriately
  • Basic computer skills including working knowledge of student organization management systems and the Microsoft Office suite
  • General contract and risk management knowledge


Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of this job’s functions.

  • General office setting
  • Weekend and evening work required
  • Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA)
