Primary Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of this position is to work closely with the Assistant Dean of Finance to ensure financial management, compliance, and planning that allows the School of Law to successfully operate. This position is responsible for the maintenance, oversight, and reporting of financial accounting data.
High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of the standard accepted principles and practices of accounting and auditing; knowledge of federal, state and County laws, regulations, policies and procedure; knowledge of ethical guidelines applicable to the position as outlined by professional organizations and/or federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word and Excel) Applications; knowledge of file management programs; ability to apply accounting principles and relevant laws and regulations to the preparation and maintenance of fiscal and accounting records and reports; ability to prepare clear and concise reports and to compile and analyze financial statements and reports; ability to effectively express ideas orally and in writing; ability to make oral presentations before groups of people; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments; able to work multitask and prioritize projects; ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
