The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Oakland University
invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant
Professor level, in the area of Combustion/IC engines and Advanced
Propulsion Systems. The appointment would be effective as early as
August 2021.
We seek applicants with research and teaching interests relevant to internal combustion engines including, but not limited to chemical kinetics, kinetic mechanism development, after-treatment systems, and modeling and simulations. Successful candidates will be expected to develop an externally funded research program that includes fundamental and/or applied research. The candidate should be able to teach and develop courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. An earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required with a recent history or strong potential of external funding and successful teaching abilities in related courses.PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, completed by August 15 2021.
