The Department of Teaching and Learning at Florida International University (FIU) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track (12 month) Open Rank Teaching Professor position in Curriculum and Instruction.

Earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Education, or related field with appropriate background in education.  Experience teaching foundational education courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels to individuals from K-20 settings. A minimum of 3 years teaching in K-12 settings is highly preferred, along with expertise in teaching experience in culturally and linguistically diverse settings. Evidence of curricular development and course redesign, along with knowledge of the Florida Educators Accomplished Practices, is preferred.  Strong leadership, administrative, and organizational skills are necessary.  Evidence of commitment to work with public schools, other units in the university, as well as other community agencies, is valued.

Work closely with elementary education faculty in the Department of Teaching and Learning. Teach undergraduate and graduate foundational education courses at the elementary and secondary levels.  Develop and implement course redesign.  Coordinate adjunct faculty for foundational courses.  Support the College, Department, and University commitment to deliver a quality education program at the elementary and secondary levels to preservice and in-service teachers and professionals within a culturally and linguistically diverse community. Engage in service to the Department, College, and University, as well within the broader education community.
