Professor of Instruction
(Biopsychology/Experimental/Quantitative)

The Department of Psychology at The University of Tampa is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time appointment as Professor of Instruction to begin August 2021. Instructional faculty are respected members of the department and have the principal responsibility of providing instruction and support to students, and while instructional faculty are expected to maintain currency in their fields, they are not required to have a research agenda and do not earn tenure. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Psychology or be ABD in a Psychology program. The successful candidate will have expertise in Biopsychology, Experimental Psychology, and/or Quantitative Psychology.

We are looking for someone with a passion for excellence in teaching and introducing students to the foundations of psychology. Teaching responsibilities involve teaching four, 4-hour courses each semester: primarily general psychology, introductory research methods and statistics, fundamentals of biopsychology and learning, and other psychology courses as needed. Other responsibilities will include undergraduate student advising and committee service.

The successful candidate will join 15 full-time faculty and approximately 450 undergraduate psychology majors. Undergraduates are offered a high-quality educational experience and are provided with training in the clinical, organizational, biopsychology, cognitive, social and developmental subfields. Experiential education is emphasized with numerous opportunities, including faculty-mentored student research, internships, and service learning.

Applications received by February 8, 2021 will receive full consideration. Salary is competitive.
