Brief Statement of Duties:

Teaching both graduate and undergraduate students across departmental programs, Scholarship, and Service.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education:

Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree

Discipline / Degree Area:

Social work or related field

Required Specialized Training/Certifications:

Required Minimum Work Experience:

Earned MSW from a CSWE accredited institution and a Ph.D. in social work or related field, plus two years post- MSW social work practice experience. ABDs who will complete their degree prior to the start of their employment will be considered.

To be hired at the rank of Associate Professor, candidates must have a record demonstrating teaching, scholarship/professional development, and service commensurate to the criteria set forth in the departmental by-laws.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:

Knowledge and applied skills in (1) the generalist social work intervention model; (2) theories of human behavior in the social environment; (3) CSWE core competencies; (4) NASW Code of Ethics; and (5) social work research methods.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

Prior experience teaching at the University-level, especially in social work education. Significant experience, research or teaching in one of the two MSW concentrations: Clinical or PPA (Policy, Planning and Administration). Additional desirable qualifications include knowledge of trauma-informed social work, rural social work practice, decolonized teaching practices or experience with Native American peoples and communities, and grant writing.
