Ariel University's Presidential Search Committee invites all qualified applicants to submit their candidacy for the position of President of Ariel University for the four-year term, commencing May 2021/Iyar 5781.  After reviewing all candidates’ submissions, the Search Committee will recommend a candidate to the University’s Executive Committee subject to ratification by the University’s Board of Trustees. 

The University is seeking an individual with academic-administrative vision to lead Ariel University to scholarly excellence and enhance its contribution to Israeli society.

Currently, some 16,000 students attend Ariel University from across Israel. They are enrolled in a wide range of academic disciplines and research programs including, the natural sciences, engineering, architecture, health and medical sciences, communications, social sciences and the humanities.

The President's primary responsibilities include: overseeing the University's administration and furthering its unique vision and values, subject to supervision by the Executive Committee; representing the University in Israel and worldwide; administering all affiliated institutions and programs; and leading the University’s domestic and foreign resource-development and fundraising initiatives.

In evaluating a candidate’s suitability for this position the Search Committee will consider several factors including (but not limited to) the candidate’s international academic recognition and status; leadership skills; experience in steering large institutions through substantial change and development; managerial experience in public or academic institutions; proven ability to raise funds in Israel and abroad; in-depth knowledge of the regulatory regime for higher education; and the ability to foster cooperation with academic institutions in Israel and abroad.  In addition, the candidate must possess the ability to represent the University before government agencies and the Knesset, as well as to members of Academia and donors, while promoting the University's core values and the vision of its founders. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and communicate with individuals from all sectors of society.
