LIM College – Where Business Meets Fashion is currently seeking candidates for the position of Dean of Academic Administration.

Located in the heart of New York City — the nation’s fashion and business capital — LIM provides students with innumerable opportunities for firsthand experience and professional development.   POSITION PURPOSE   The Dean of Academic Administration has the unique opportunity to exert substantial impact across the College. The Dean of Academic Administration provides overall leadership support to the Provost and oversees academic administrative functions of the College, including the Office of the Registrar, the Office of Institutional Research, the Library, and the Office of Academic Administration. The Dean of Academic Administration will work collaboratively with the Provost on identifying and implementing planning projects that support excellence in the delivery of academic programs that support LIM College students, the center of everything we do.   The Dean of Academic Administration will lead institutional assessment efforts collegewide, directing these efforts towards the College’s commitment to continuous improvement. The Dean will provide key support to the Provost on project managing the strategic planning process, analyzing data, preparing presentations and other communications to the Board and the College community. The Dean will serve as the College’s Middle States Commission liaison, ensuring compliance with MSCHE standards. The Dean will serve as point person for the launch of new programs.   This role requires extensive collaboration, decision-making, and project management skills.   The Dean of Academic Administration will:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
  • Oversee institutional research projects, ensuring these provide valuable data to inform decision making 
  • Ensure state and regulatory standards by reviewing policies and procedures relevant to academic affairs, including the faculty handbook
  • Lead institutional and academic assessment for the College, including learning outcomes and the MSCHE self-study process with accreditors 
  • Oversee, and ensure the completion of, learning outcomes assessments
  • Under the direction of the Provost, develop and manage an integrated institutional strategic planning process and system to monitor progress towards achieving planning goals 
  • Act as primary liaison for accreditation related issues to the Provost 
  • Serve as the College’s liaison to accreditors (MSCHE, ACBSP), ensuring compliance with standards 
  • Serve as the College’s liaison to the New York State Education Department, ensuring compliance with SED regulations 
  • Under the guidance of the Provost, lead the College’s academic programmatic review 
  • Collaborate with the compliance team regarding all matters concerning academic affairs compliance 
  • Provide guidance and support to the academic affairs leadership team to ensure program integrity 
  • Serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet and the Provost’s Council 
  • Provide continuing support to new degree and non-degree offerings, including assistance with proposal development and submission through the state and MSCHE program registration processes 
  • Update the College community on programs towards reaching strategic planning goals 
  • Oversee budget planning for reporting line departments
  • Assume responsibility for related duties and special projects as directed by the Provost or President 
  • Represent the Provost at LIM College functions and events
REQUIREMENTS
  • Master’s Degree Required
  • A minimum of eight years of experience working in Higher Education or a related field
  • Knowledge of relevant trends and best practices in higher education in traditional and distance learning environments
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology to improve the student experience
  • Lead or coordinated accreditation processes at regional and/or program levels
  • Developed and executed academic policies consistent with appropriate regulations and academic integrity
  • Managed large-scale projects and brought initiatives to completion
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement 
  • Preferred: Prior experience working with accreditation in New York State and Middle States; Experience cultivating a culture of innovation
