Assistant Professor of Economics

The Department of Economics in The University of Tampa’s John H. Sykes College of Business invites applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Economics position to begin in August 2021.

The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially-based private institution of 9,600 undergraduate and graduate students. The University is ideally situated on a beautiful 110-acre campus next to the Hillsborough River, adjacent to Tampa's dynamic central business district, which is a growing, vibrant, diverse metropolitan area. UT reflects this vibrancy; with 22 consecutive years of enrollment growth UT boasts 260 student organizations, a multicultural student body from 50 states and 140 countries, and "Top Tier" ranking in U.S. News & World Report.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics before the start date. A demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence is required. The applicant will also be expected to maintain an active research agenda and to actively participate in student service. The successful applicant will teach Principles of Macroeconomics in our undergraduate program. An ability to teach an upper-level undergraduate or graduate course in Applied Time Series Econometrics and/or Business Analytics would be desirable. The opportunity exists to teach other courses that match the applicant’s interests. The teaching load is 3 courses (typically two preps) per semester, in a small classroom setting.
