Under general supervision of U54 grant PIs/PD, conducts preclinical drug development studies in the Center for Biomedical and Minority Health Research ( CBMHR ). Specifically, responsible for drug characterization, analytical method development, drug formulation, PK data analysis; operating and maintaining instruments; providing service and technical support to internal and external users; providing direct support to the CBMHR leadership, faculty, users and staff members; submitting reports, publishing and presenting data, and applying for funding.

This is a Grant Funded position.

Essential Duties Summary

• Conducts CBMHR formulation and PK projects in laboratory activities including study design, execution of various experiments, data collection, data interpretation, laboratory supplies, and daily operations of the lab.
• Conducts in vitro characterization studies including physiochemical properties of drugs, dissolution, drug metabolism; performs formulation studies including co-solvent, liposome, micelles and various nanoparticles.
• Coordinates and conducts LC-MS/MS method development, optimization, and validation process for drug analysis, animal study, PK analysis.
• Maintains all CBMHR instruments, develops and implements record-keeping systems on program participants, staff, equipment inventories and compliance activities. Prepares facility activity reports and program status to the users, university and funding agency.
• Publishes data, presents at conferences and seeks external funding.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range $48,273.00 - $60,341.00 Education

Ph.D degree in biomedical science-related field, with formulation and analytical chemistry background.

Work Experience

Requires more than three (3) years of research experience post-graduate.
