Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities

The Financial Analyst, Clinical Trials will be responsible for utilizing VCU’s clinical trial management system, OnCore, to support the billing and management of revenue associated with clinical trials managed within the School of Medicine. The individual must be able to work independently and communicate effectively with study teams, sponsors, VCUHS billing, and SOMRA team members. Key areas of responsibility include: 1) serving as lead analyst in the management of all incoming accounts (AP) related to clinical trials 2) reconciling OnCore study and financial data 3) sponsor billing and OnCore revenue management serving as lead for sponsor payment receiving and uploading to OnCore 4) providing financial support to assigned SOM departments/centers/institutes to include journal vouchers, procurement, and other financial account reconciliations.

Minimum Hiring Standards

-Strong organizational, time management, and communications skills. Ability to set priorities, make timely decisions, and meet deadlines while working on multiple projects.
-Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a large and complex organization and in a diverse work environment.
-Be able to read and interpret complex contractual and budget terms.
-Experience: Track record of increasing levels of responsibility and authority.

Preferred Hiring Standards

-College degree preferred or equivalent applicable training or work experience.
-Knowledge of OnCore system is preferred.
-Previous supervisory experience preferred.
-Prior experience with clinical trials preferably in an academic medical center.
