The Department of English at the University
of Arkansas in Fayetteville seeks an Associate or Advanced
Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and Composition to direct its
undergraduate writing program and to join the department in
fostering a campus culture of writing. This position involves
coordinating and promoting a new minor in rhetoric and writing as
well as a new concentration in rhetoric and writing within the
English major. The appointment also requires teaching three courses
per year, directing theses and dissertations, and participating in
service to the department, college, and university. In overseeing
the writing program, the director will have the support of the
faculty in rhetoric and composition and two full-time staff members
(an assistant director and a curriculum and teaching specialist).
The ideal candidate will have a strong record of publication as
well as extensive experience with writing program administration
and graduate-level teaching. The ability to collaborate with a
diverse faculty and staff is essential. The position starts July 1,
2021, and is a 12-month appointment. Completed applications
