The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Miami in Miami, FL is seeking an Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology to work in its Naples, FL campus.  Expected to provide the highest quality of ophthalmic care for the children and adults with strabismus and in the fields of pediatric anterior segment, glaucoma, and oculoplastics.  Clinical duties include the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of children with a wide variety of ocular pathology and adults with strabismus. Expected to provide medical and surgical care of patients. In the operating room, extensive surgical procedures include: complex childhood and adult strabismus, including the use of adjustable sutures, and pediatric cataracts. Teaching responsibilities include training/teaching Residents, Fellows/Instructors, and Medical students during pediatric-ophthalmology clinical rotations and surgical procedures.  The candidate will be expected to develop a clinical practice in his/her area of training, with focus on developing innovative clinical research.

 

Position requires MD with 1 year of fellowship training in a US accredited hospital and must possess a Florida Medical License or a Medical Faculty Certificate.
