The Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance at the University of Regina invites applications for a tenure-track position in Creative Technologies, at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2021. Joining an interdisciplinary team working at the broad intersection of fine arts, media, computer science and engineering, the successful candidate will be an exceptional artist-researcher able to build upon the well-established research and creation strengths in the Faculty.
The successful candidate will have a background in creative technologies practice and theory, and a focus on one or more of these practice-based specializations: wearable technologies and maker culture, creative coding, design, VR/AR, gaming. Applicants should have a doctorate in a related discipline, and/or a terminal degree in a fine arts discipline. Additional professional/industry experience in the fine arts and/or creative industries is desirable.
Previous studio/lab-based teaching experience in creative technologies, or a related area, is required. Training, practice, and dissemination in the visual or performing arts is an asset.
