Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Research Animal Resources and Compliance (RARC) unit invites applications for the position of Research Animal Veterinarian. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position reporting to the Chief Campus Veterinarian.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

D.V.M. degree or equivalent from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited School of Veterinary Medicine.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Formal training and/or experience in laboratory animal medicine and strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. The desirable candidate will have experience with operations and health management of large rodent facilities and familiarity with nonhuman primates.

License or Certificate:

Must be able to be licensed in at least one state. American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM) board eligibility or certification is desirable. Incumbent must be able to obtain clearance to work with select agents.
