The School of Engineering at Quinnipiac University seeks highly qualified applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching for part-time faculty openings in Civil Engineering for the Spring 2021 semester. The school is experiencing steady enrollment growth and desires to develop and maintain a pool of candidates should additional part-time openings arise.
About the School/Program:The School of Engineering became the ninth school at Quinnipiac University on July 1, 2016. The school offers degrees in civil, industrial, mechanical and software engineering, and computer science. Housed in the newly renovated Center for Communications and Engineering, the school features newly constructed and outfitted laboratories and classrooms. Dedicated to providing a high-quality engineering learning experience for our students, the school focuses on high-quality instruction, and offers hands-on training, applied learning opportunities and meaningful student-faculty relationships.

Responsibilities:The current opening is in the area of Water Resources and Hydraulic Engineering. This is one of several Civil Engineering sub-disciplines in the Quinnipiac Civil Engineering program.

Responsibilities include teaching two laboratory sections in our required course CER 350 (Hydrology/Hydraulic Design).

This 3 hour/week, 1-credit laboratory course accompanies a 3-credit hour lecture.

This course will be offered during the Spring (2021) semester of the 2020-2021 academic year.

The instructor will need to coordinate activities, assignments, and grading with the lead faculty member teaching the lecture section and an additional lab section. The laboratory activities include experiments, demonstrations, computer simulations, and design activities.

A minimum of a Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred, although consideration will be given to excellent candidates who possess practical experience or professional licensure.
