Job Summary
The assistant vice president of Lindenwood online and continuing education is the staff leader for the university’s online and continuing education programing. This position is responsible for overseeing academic learning for online students and lifelong learners in collaboration with academic schools, establishing goals and direction for the department, providing leadership for all department staff and creating and adhering to the departmental budgets.

Job Responsibilities
- Develops and carries out initiatives to improve student learning both in and beyond the classroom
- Oversees all Lindenwood Online and Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) functional areas including instructional design, student experience and communications and regional business outreach
- Directs and initiates efforts to expand online learning and professional and continuing education programs for emerging populations
- Continuously reviews and evaluates delivery of services to identify areas of improvement and ensure goals are met
- Oversees retention and graduation initiatives in online and continuing education
Leadership and Strategic Thinking
- Establishes long- and short-terms goals for the department and ensures that standards are met
- Creates a work environment that is mission and vision aligned
- Provides ongoing assessment, adapts to change and responds to trends in higher education
- Collaborates with academic schools and Enrollment Management to grow online enrollments
- Leads the development of online and continuing education goals, strategies, timelines and metrics that support the mission and strategic initiatives of the university
- Builds the team and infra-structure to support exponential growth in the Lindenwood Online environment, both in net tuition revenue and enrollment
Human Resources Management
- Complies with Lindenwood standards and procedures to hire, supervise, schedule, support and evaluate employees
- Provides leadership and ensures professional development of subordinates
- Conducts course reviews for online and continuing education and provides instructor feedback
Administrative and Operational Duties
- Collaborates with campus constituents to ensure budget compliance and develop creative solutions to maximize resources
- Oversees recruitment efforts and monitors enrollment and retention data
Communication and Collaboration
- Collaborates with academic leaders to foster online learning objectives
- Represents continuing and online education on various committees and working groups internal and external to the university
University Mission
- Supports the mission of the university and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
Job may require other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
- Master’s degree
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an executive leadership role
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in developing online and continuing education courses in higher education

- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of online learning and continuing education market and the opportunities within higher education
