The Office of Student Success (OSS) seeks a temporary Administrative Assistant to support daily operations in a hybrid work environment. This position will be partially remote (2 weekdays) and partially on-campus (3 weekdays) to start, with the understanding that the campus may return to full- time on-campus services and the role will adjust accordingly. This position will be the front line for interactions with students, families, faculty, and staff, and should have excellent written and oral communication skills. They will be responsible for administratively supporting the professional staff members within the Offices of Student Success and Student Care and Support, as well as acquainting students with all office resources and programs.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently and problem-solve creatively, and will have experience providing service to students and families in a fast paced college or university-based office environment. Experience working with people of varying backgrounds and maintaining sensitive information is preferred.

Job Description:

This position will be the front line of service interactions between the Office of Student Success and students, families, faculty, and staff. You will be responsible for general administrative support of the office, as well as occasional special project support.

PLEASE NOTE: This position will be expected to report to campus one to three days per week as needed, and will be remote when not on-campus.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary coverage for the Student Success phone line, as well as multiple email inboxes and front desk coverage
  • General administrative support including, but not limited to records management, appointment scheduling, creating outreach campaigns, advertising student workshops and events, maintaining multiple web and social media pages, and maintaining stock of office supplies


Your Other Responsibilities:
  • Occasional assistance with data projects
  • Ensure all COVID-19 safety protocols are adhered to during on-campus days
  • Provide occasional assistance with other offices within the Enrollment division, including Student Financial Services and Enrollment Management Leadership
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Skills and Experience:
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • 1-3 years experience working in an education or customer service related field
  • Experience interacting with students and families from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • Comfortable with Zoom, Microsoft Office, records management systems
  • Ability to prioritize tasks independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience


Additional Skills and Experience Preferred:
  • Basic understanding of FERPA
  • A strong background in customer service or a related field (client support, counseling, teaching or facilitating, etc)
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience in video creation and/or creating content for social media campaigns


Work Environment
  • Typical office environment
  • Ability to sit/type/use the phone for long periods of time
  • Ability to occasionally push/pull no more than 40lbs and lift no more than 15lbs
  • Ability to work in-office and remotely as office needs change


Grade of Position: T01N

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36.25

Hiring Range: $24,999.98 - $26,166.67
