UNC-Pembroke invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in physics starting in August 2021. The appointment is for the rank of Assistant Professor.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the potential for teaching a variety of physics courses including required courses for undergraduate physics majors. The candidate should have some experience teaching at the undergraduate level as a teacher or teacher assistant.

The position also requires the candidate help administrate the UNCP 3+2 Pre-Engineering program with NC State University.

Duties will include teaching 12 credit hours of classes and labs a semester, participating in service to the university and engaging students in some form of undergraduate research.

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:  A Ph.D. in physics is required and preference will be given to candidates who received their Doctorate within the past five years.  Preference will be given to candidates with some background in engineering and computational science.
