Child Development and Early Childhood Education Faculty Position

Erikson Institute, one of the nation’s leading graduate schools in child development, invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position, open rank (assistant, associate, or full professor). The position is a 10-month, full-time appointment, beginning Fall 2021. We seek a teacher educator and scholar with a strong foundation in child development to conduct teaching, research, and service to the profession.

We seek a faculty colleague whose scholarship recognizes the complexities of development in caregiving and educational relationships given particular cultural, social, and economic contexts and historical circumstances that shape both opportunities and challenges for children and families.  Areas of scholarship and professional practice of particular interest to build upon include dual language and bi-literacy development in early childhood; innovative and developmentally appropriate instruction in math, science, literacy, social and emotional learning (SEL), and technology; early childhood leadership, and other enhancements to early learning settings from infancy through the early grades. Strong preference includes experience in public school teaching and teacher education.

Responsibilities of tenure track faculty include teaching graduate courses (on campus and online); advising master’s and doctoral students; developing an active program of funded research with publications; taking a leadership role in program administration and development; engagement with the public at local, state, and regional levels; and contributing expertise to the Institute’s mission and initiatives in early childhood programs and policies.
