The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Belmont University is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2021. Job responsibilities include twelve hours of undergraduate teaching per semester as well as other departmental and university professional responsibilities, including academic advising, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and college and university service. Candidates must be committed to superior teaching. Primary teaching responsibilities will include introductory physics courses for science majors, core physics courses in the Audio Engineering Technology program, and elective physics courses depending on the candidate’s interests and background. In addition to teaching excellence, candidates are expected to engage in scholarly activity and maintain an active role in the supervision of independent undergraduate research.  At Belmont, a variety of scholarly productivity is valued, including the scholarship of teaching, discovery, integration, and application. A Ph.D. in physics or a related field is required by August 2021; teaching experience is strongly preferred, as is research experience and knowledge of acoustical physics.
