Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor in Health Policy Administration

Penn State Hazleton invites applications for a faculty position, Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor position in Health Policy Administration (fixed-term multi-year appointment, 3 years with option for renewal, 36 weeks) to begin August 2021, or as negotiated
Responsibilities: Teach introductory and upper-level courses in the B.S. program in Health Policy Administration using traditional, hybrid and online delivery methods. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes as needed. Participate in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. Engage in activities to stay current in the discipline.

This position will support efforts to deliver a regional baccalaureate program in Health Policy Administration. This program will be offered jointly by two Penn State campuses in eastern Pennsylvania: Penn State Hazleton and Penn State Schuylkill. The successful candidate will be located at Penn State Hazleton and will work collaboratively with faculty at the other campus to deliver a portion of the curriculum to multiple campuses using a variety of distance delivery methods. Qualifications: Minimum of a Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Health Policy Administration, with a preferred specialty in health care management. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is required. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.

Class sizes are small and the student/faculty ratio is low, so students can receive much individual attention.
