Responsibilities: Teach each semester using traditional, hybrid and online delivery methods. Teaching assignments will include classroom and laboratory courses in Computer Science. Teaching assignments may require teaching day and/or evening as needed. Publish in refereed journals. Participate in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. Engage in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. This position will provide leadership for a new baccalaureate degree program offered by three Penn State campuses in conjunction with the College of Engineering: Penn State Beaver, Penn State Brandywine, and Penn State Hazleton. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with faculty at the other campuses to deliver a portion of the curriculum to multiple campuses using a variety of distance delivery methods. This position entails serving as the Professor In Charge for the Computer Science shared program across three campuses (Brandywine, Hazleton, and Beaver). As the Professor in Charge, the candidate will collaborate with all the faculty in the program, the chief academic officers, and the Associate Vice President and Senior Associate Dean of the Commonwealth Campuses to coordinate program activity (shared course delivery, assessment, search committees, etc.). The successful candidate may be based at the campus (Brandywine, Hazleton, or Beaver) of her/his choice.

Qualifications: Ability to support diverse student body and campus community, including appreciation and respect of differences in race and ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation, religious affiliation, age and life experience, nationality and language, and in physical capabilities. We actively look for faculty with a commitment to supporting diversity in their various roles.

Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution. The successful candidate's offer will be contingent upon successful completion of an immediate tenure review. Teaching duties fall within the Computer Science degree offered at the three campuses. Ability to teach courses in object-oriented programming, systems programming, computer organization and design, theory of computation, operating systems design, programming languages, and electives in the instructor's area of expertise. Evidence of potential in research and publication in the area of artificial intelligence or a closely related field is expected. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.

Class sizes are small and the student/faculty ratio is low, so students can receive much individual attention. Our faculty members are committed to providing a high-quality educational experience to their students and are actively engaged in research. Our students receive a world-class education delivered in a small campus setting and have opportunities to participate in undergraduate research projects supervised by faculty members.
