The psychology program invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2021. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an ability to successfully conduct an independent line of research; however, the research area is open. Priority will be given to candidates with previous teaching experience, especially those who have taught Research Methods. Given the institution’s strong emphasis on diversity, candidates from traditionally underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply. 

UHD is a teaching university; full-time faculty teach a 4-3 course load.

Qualifications

Candidates must have received a Ph.D. in psychology or a related discipline from a regionally-accredited institution by the time of employment. Candidates should have an established research agenda in their specialty area. Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in Research Methods and their specialty area, and contribute to service activities within the department and institution.

Priority will be given to candidates with previous teaching experience, especially those who have taught Research Methods and courses that center on issues of diversity, inequality, gender, and/or social justice.
