General Summary/Purpose:
The Sr. Research Program Coordinator will work closely with the PI, Co-Investigators, and an interdisciplinary team to ensure the successful implementation of the EHPOC (Ending the HIV Epidemic through Point-of-Care Technologies) study. These activities will include study protocol development and implementation, participant recruitment and other administrative pieces of research related issues.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as liaison between Johns
Hopkins Infectious Diseases and partner
organizations.
Build relationship with project
partners including the local Health Department, CBOs, and potential
participants.
Develop questionnaires/surveys for
study participants and clinical/laboratory staff to assess the
acceptability and feasibility of rapid HIV testing
technologies.
Contribute to proposal development
efforts, as assigned, tailored to each clinical/CBO
site.
Provide ongoing assessment of
recruitment and retention.
Provide communication to potential
participants in English and Spanish.
Contribute to regulatory and
IRB-related matters pertaining to the studies.
Assist with acquisition of data from
clinics/CBOs for reporting to CDC as required by
grant.
Provide community-focused access to
study finding and progress.
Perform phlebotomy and other related
procedures such as spinning blood samples prior to
storage.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline required.
- 3 years related experience required.
- Experience with IRB and other regulatory work.
- Protocol development.
- Experience with HIV and/or HIV PrEP work.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula***.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree preferred but not required.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ideally fluency in Spanish.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of people in different clinical settings.
- Ability to communicate with a range of priority populations, including people with HIV, gender and sexual minority individuals, people who inject drugs.
***JHU Equivalency Formula:
30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or
18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of
experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two
years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the
total minimum education/experience required for the respective
job.

This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
