Under general supervision performs activities necessary to maintain a current space inventory of all University facilities. Analyzes academic space utilization effectiveness, recommending actions to respond to changing demands for space needs. Manages and is accountable for the management of a perpetual facilities inventory database and the tracking of changes, to the use or allocation of space on campus. Responsible for preparation and submission of the annual facilities inventory reports to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and various reports for internal and external constituencies; provides input and assessment on the impact of the facilities inventory on the THECB Space Projection Model and space utilization.

Essential Duties Summary

• Maintains perpetual facilities inventory database, verifies data integrity and ensures accuracy of room code and naming conventions per campus and THECB standards.
• Prepares and submits annual facilities inventory reports to the THECB .
• Conducts annual institutional space utilization survey, to gather and document space assignment, room usage, room types, occupants, and principal investigators, as defined by the Texas Higher education Coordinating Board.
• Collects, reviews, and validates space change requests, and update inventory, as needed.
• Coordinates with other campus system administrators, to initiate reconciliation reports to check databases for errors and inconsistencies; processes needed corrections to maintain data congruence.
• Coordinates with Facilities Maintenance and Construction, to maintain current campus floor plans and recommend building and room number assignments.
• Participates on THECB facilities audit Peer Review Teams and coordinates host committee and/or act, as primary campus liaison during facilities inventory audits and peer reviews.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range $41,976.00 - $62,964.00 Education

Work Experience

Three (3) years of related work experience.

Space planning experience preferred.

Working/Environmental Conditions

Routine office environment.
Sitting or standing in one location much of the time.
Some stooping, lifting or carrying objects light weight may be required.
Use of video display terminal.
