Position Summary:

The Clinical Research Nurse will work in collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, counselors and other clinic and hospital staff under the general supervision of the principal investigator and the department's senior clinical research nurse to assure the smooth operation of multiple clinical investigations. Pediatric research studies are conducted in outpatient and inpatient settings in specialty areas such as cardiology, nephrology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, critical care and general pediatrics. The Clinical Research Nurse will demonstrate a high level of competence and clinical expertise by implementing research protocols as well as providing direct patient care and professional nursing services that may be necessary to meet the requirements of research studies including clinical drug trials.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required, bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

2 or more years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred, experience in a research environment is highly desirable, and experience in research study coordination is preferred. Experience in Pediatrics is also preferred.

Effective oral and written communication skills, independent problem solving and analytical skills, attention to detail and organization, and an outgoing and energetic service-oriented approach required.

License or Certificate:

Must hold or be eligible to obtain a Registered Nurse (RN) License for the State of Wisconsin.

Additional Information:

This vacancy is being announced in tandem with the Research Specialist PVL #228352. A person will be hired to fill the position under either the Clinical Research Nurse or the Research Specialist title.

Successful applicants will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment.

A caregiver background check will be conducted. A valid driver's license and eligibility is required for Car Fleet usage.
