Job Description Summary
The Disability Services Administrative Coordinator (DSAC) is a regularly scheduled 10-month full-time position, who provides a variety of administrative services with Test Room Coordination being the primary duty. The Test Room is a designated area to assist faculty in facilitating academic accommodations for students. The DSAC serves as a liaison between Disability Services and faculty to assist in implementing academic accommodations. The DSAC informs and guides both students and faculty, educating both parties about the Test Room policies and procedures. The DSAC processes all Test Room request forms, confirms exam dates and times, and manages the graduate student proctors who administer the exams. Confidentiality is essential due to the nature of information and services provided.

In addition, the DSAC serves in an administrative role for Disability Services, assisting the office in running efficiently. Answers phones, schedules and keeps track of all appointments, and provides information to faculty, staff, students and families.

Essential Duties
  • Receives completed Test Room request forms and, reviews each individual request to ensure the request is completely filled out with all accommodations listed.
  • Sends confirmation emails faculty and students with directions, reminders and specifics of the exam.

    Maintains Test Room calendar to ensure no overbooking.
  • Collects exams for administration in Test Room.
  • After exams are completed, the DSAC assembles materials and distributes exams accordingly to faculty.
  • Manages two graduate student proctors, conveying important messages regarding their job duties as well as keeping track of time worked and submitting hours to the Director of Disability Services.
  • Act as main contact for proctors during exams and liaison between students and faculty during exams.
  • Schedules all appointments for the Disability Services staff, answers phones and communicates to the community.


Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 3 years of administrative support experience.
  • This position is highly self-directed.
  • Needs to have excellent communication skills to deal with students, families, faculty and staff and to answer questions and provide guidance.
  • General knowledge of registration, academic advising, and disability services needed. This position requires excellent organization skills and multi-tasking skills. Knowledge in working with a diverse population.
  • Needs to be flexible, able to multitask, be organized in a quick paced environment, have excellent communication skills and be able to think creatively under special circumstances.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred


Work Environment
  • Office has peak busy times, namely the first 4-6 weeks of each semester and during mid-terms and finals.
  • This job requires constant communication via phone, email and in person with students, families, faculty and staff.
  • Typical office work environment with extensive sitting and computer work..
