The primary responsibility of the Associate Dean for Curriculum and Graduate Programs is to lead and champion all areas of assessment, accreditation and curricular innovation for the Farmer School of Business (FSB). This includes all activities involving the creation, maintenance, revision, or deletion of curriculum, courses, sequence of courses and programs of study offered by or within the FSB, all managerial activities related to that curriculum, including periodic assessments, required reporting and accreditation requirements. The Associate Dean for Curriculum and Graduate Programs works closely with the Senior Associate Dean who is responsible for the support of faculty and students in the delivery of undergraduate curriculum, including academic advising and student recruitment and retention efforts division-wide.  The Associate Dean for Curriculum and Graduate Programs reports directly to the Dean of the FSB. In addition to working closely with the Senior Associate Dean, the Associate Dean for Curriculum and Graduate Programs is expected to work collaboratively with all other members of the dean’s staff to develop strategy and implement divisional policies.

Duties include and are not limited to:

Curricular and Co-Curricular Innovation, Implementation and Management:

  • Advocates for and supports the development of innovative curriculum and programs
  • Creates and nurtures a culture of curricular innovation at the FSB
  • Works with the dean, department chairs, faculty and the Undergraduate and Graduate Studies Committees on curriculum and program development at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Works with faculty and staff from program areas and departments to promote the development of alternative delivery formats (e.g., off-campus, on-line, hybrid, and time-shifted courses)
  • Leads faculty in development, implementation and evaluation of co-curricular and engagement experiences (e.g., experiential learning, new global programs, badges, certificates, etc.)
  • Leads all program reviews on behalf of the FSB. This includes setting goals, developing strategies, and monitoring revenue and expenses associated with programs. This also includes any university-related program review initiatives, i.e. APEIP
  • Executes the design, collection and maintenance of the FSB Assurance of Learning program for AACSB and University accreditation
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of an “accreditation dashboard” that provides an annual report of key metrics, especially those required for accreditation
  • Works with the University Accreditation Steering Committee on FSB compliance with the Higher Learning Commission
  • Works with advising and student services to support recruitment, advising and retention activities
  • Oversees grade changes
  • Serves as a resource when resolving faculty and/or student issues related to courses and programs
  • Reviews and resolves curricular and programmatic issues across the divisions that impact the FSB

Graduate Programs:

  • Works with the Director of the FSB Global Studies Program in the administration of these initiatives
  • Works with the Director of the PMBA Program and the Director of FSB Graduate Studies in the administration of these programs

Other Key Relationships:

  • Works with the Director of the Howe Writing Initiative on advancing the mission of the Howe Writing Center
  • Liaises with and supports the Office of Academic Integrity on behalf of the FSB
  • Along with the Senior Associate Dean, serves as Dean’s liaison to the FSB and committees as appropriate to area of responsibility
  • Serves as the FSB representative to various university committees, work groups, etc. as needed
  • Represents the division as needed at FSB, university, and external relations events

Supervisory Responsibilities: Director of Assessment, Director of PMBA Program, Director of FSB Graduate Studies, Director of Business Honors Program, Director of PRIME, Director of FSB Global Studies

Required: An earned PhD in a discipline within one of the School’s seven departments: Accounting, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Information Systems and Analytics, Marketing or Management; record of teaching, research, and service that qualifies the candidate to be a tenured, full professor in the College. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, collaboration and mentorship skills and be able to demonstrate a productive commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion across all areas of responsibility.

This position is available to persons who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis.  (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA.)
