Position Overview:
Lecturer provides a quality learning experience for students. Lecturer faculty performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the Lecturer faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.
Position Summary: The position calls for teaching at the undergraduate level in a variety of instructional formats (face-to-face, hybrid, and online as appropriate). Candidates should have strong evidence of teaching effectiveness in the areas of organizational communication, strategic communications, and interpersonal communication. Preferred candidates will have extensive experience in online instruction.

The College of Liberal Arts currently has 113 full-time and 152 part-time faculty in 8 academic departments. The College serves the University's Core Curriculum programs and enrolls more than 2,850 undergraduate students and more than 300 graduate students in 34 undergraduate and 17 graduate majors. Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
Responsibilities include teaching five classes per semester (fall and spring) in the strategic communications and communication programs. Service to the department is required.
Qualifications
Experience Required:
An earned Master's degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in Communication required. A minimum of five years teaching experience at the collegiate level in communication required. (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Experience Preferred:
Online teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred. Candidates should have expertise in high impact teaching practices and effective teaching technologies.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge and training across the integrated discipline of communications preferred.
