Job Description:

The PRN nurse will support Score 1’s community health initiatives.

Score 1, a division of KCU, provides free, in-school health screenings for elementary-aged children in the greatest need. It also allows KCU’s medical students to gain early clinical experience in pediatric health assessment and healthy lifestyle coaching for families. At this time, due to the pandemic, some of Score 1’s traditional services are temporarily suspended and their focus is to provide Covid-19 testing and case management to KCU employees and students. The Nurse PRN will assist with this effort working approximately 10 hours per week. As conditions allow, the PRN nurse will support Score 1’s community health initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists with Covid-19 Case Management
  • Ensures timely follow-up with employees and students
  • Effectively tracks all employees and students contacted
  • Provides contact tracing services and must be prepared to take John Hopkins Contact Tracing course
  • Supports vaccine distribution
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the organization


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Extensive knowledge and experience may substitute for education.
  • Three years experience in public health, community, phone triage or home health nursing.
  • Must be proficient with MS office (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Must have excellent time management skills, be able to work independently, productively, and with little to no supervision.
  • Demonstrated attributes in displaying compassion and developing trust while interacting with all constituents.
  • Strong phone skills essential.
  • Must maintain an active MO and KS license for registered nurses or be able to obtain bi-state licensure.
