Job Description Summary
The Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine (AU CVM ) seeks a service-focused, business-oriented, and collaborative academic leader for the position of Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs. The selected candidate will be expected to serve as chief medical officer of the veterinary teaching hospital and to serve as an advisor to the Dean on all matters related to clinical operation of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs will oversee the operation of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, maintaining a premier clinical environment for the education of veterinary students, interns, and residents, and oversee financial, biosecurity, human and physical resources of the hospital and promote exceptional service in the care of patients, clients and referring veterinarians. The position will be supported by a hospital administrator.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate for Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs is expected to promote and grow an environment that fosters both clinical and academic excellence. The position requires a DVM (or equivalent) degree. Candidates must have the qualifications and experience to merit an academic appointment in the Department of Clinical Sciences.
The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time of appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Eligibility for faculty veterinary licensure in the State of Alabama is also required.
Desired Qualifications
Applicants with board certification by an AVMA -recognized clinical specialty, and at least 3 years of experience in strategic resource management are desired.
