Professorposition for a full-time, tenure track position with a
primary appointment to theSocial Work master’s degree
program. It is scheduled to begin in the Fall term of
2021-2022.
Our social work program has a critically reflective clinical
practice focus, grounded in diverse ways of knowing and integrated
practice. Our faculty are committed to adding innovative elements
to our curriculum that further a critical approach to social
injustices arising from multiple and intersecting forms of
oppression and inequality. Our goal is to offer students faculty
with a strong clinical foundation who also bring a decolonized
perspective to teaching and to grounding clinical practice in
heightened awareness of deeply embedded socio-political dynamics
impacting institutions as well as the individuals, families and
communities we teach and serve. We offerBSWandMSWprograms. Both are
thriving and well respected in the practice community. We are part
of the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health which allows us to
integrate learning with other healthcare degree programs.
Responsibilities:
- Teach six courses per year in traditional classroom, online and
hybrid environments.
- Communicate respectfully and build relationships of trust with
people of all cultures and abilities, affirming the worth and
preserving the dignity of individuals, families, and
communities.
- Foster a culture of inclusive excellence through authentic
relationships with students as an educator, an advisor, and a
mentor
- Engage in academic advising with students, monitoring and
assessing student-learning outcomes and provide timely and frequent
feedback to students on academic performance.
- Develop an active program of research in their area of interest
and expertise to advance the discipline and inform classroom
teaching.
- Monitor curriculum content and make recommendations as
appropriate to maintain relevance.
- Effectively contribute to the highly collaborative work of the
Department.
- Provide service to the Department and University.

- Clinical practice experience.
- Critical, self-reflective pedagogy, and anti-oppressive
practice experience.
- Experience teaching and mentoring diverse student populations.
