Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in 2D/COF/MOF Synthesis for Solid-State Batteries and Sensors in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.: 502570), to commence as soon as possible for three years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering or equivalent, with a strong background in creative design and synthesis of low dimensional materials and porous structures. They should have experience in the multidisciplinary environment in association with the development of solid-state batteries, supercapacitors, or electrochemical sensors. They should demonstrate a clear understanding of charge-carrier interactions with nanostructures, and have knowledge of a wide range of spectroscopic, microstructural, and thermochemical characteristics of such structures and related characterization techniques. Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese, good organizational and leadership skills, a strong sense of responsibility, the ability to work independently, and self-motivation are essential. The appointee will work in the predictive discovery of new structures for energy applications under the supervision of Professor Z.X. Guo. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
