Academic Director - Job Description


The Academic Director of Earl Monroe Charter School is the Chief Academic Officer of the School and the leader of the entire academic program. This is a formative leadership position, for a groundbreaking, first and only of its kind academic institution opening Fall 2021. This position requires a professional who is comfortable in a dynamic, evolving, start-up environment. Problem solving and change management skills are essential. The candidate must be able to articulate, internalize, and safeguard the mission of the school as well as operationalize and activate those traits and  qualities through every teacher in every classroom. The Academic Director is the direct liaison and supervisor to teachers as well as their champion. The Academic Director inspires excellence in the faculty and shines a light on their achievements. 



    Reports to the Head of School Works closely with the Head of School, Director of Student Support, Registrar and academic in taking care of student life in and outside of the classroom Develops Curriculum and Scope and Sequence  Develops faculty evaluation process

Establishes strong Faculty mentoring program

Oversees student assessment process overall grading process

    Conducts longitudinal studies to determine effectiveness of the academic program, utilizing databases and other research methodologies



    strong academic background distinguished experience working with adults and teaching students in an educational environment deep knowledge of educational research and analysis excellent writing and presentation skills strong organizational, facilitation and management abilities aligned with  academic goals and philosophy of Earl Monroe.  Preference given to candidates who speak Spanish


Salary is commensurate with experience.
