Chapman University and Dodge College of Film and Media Arts seek applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in film post-production, editing, and sound design in its nationally recognized Dodge College of Film and Media Arts beginning August 2021.

Qualifications

Requirements include a graduate or terminal degree (Master of Fine Arts) in film production as well as significant professional experience in visual editing, sound design and surround sound re-recording mixing on narrative feature films, television, documentaries, and computer games. The successful candidate will also be committed to teaching full-time, as well as continuing his or her own professional work.

Candidates should have a background in teaching advanced courses in Avid editing, sound editing and design as well as industry-standard post-production workflow. Additional knowledge of spatial audio applications and production sound mixing are a plus.

 

Responsibilities

Faculty duties include teaching, academic advising, and service to Dodge College and Chapman University. The teaching load is 18-21 credits per academic year, in addition to continued professional work and/or research and scholarship.
