Assistant Director of Client Services and Scholarships

 

Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the following position: Assistant Director of Client Services (Student Services Program Coordinator II) in Financial Aid and Scholarships.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to: processing daily mail list that must include accurate evaluation of documentation to ensure student files are within federal, state, and institutional compliance; contributing to the overall success and smooth operation of Client Services within the office; assisting students and parents either in person, phone or email; and providing accurate counseling regarding financial aid opportunities.  This position is also responsible for assisting with Return of Title IV funds calculations per federal guidelines, counseling on and processing files for students in special circumstances (study abroad, consortium agreements, sap appeals, professional judgments), assisting with external state grants and sponsored billing, and presenting information at both on and off campus events.

 

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and at least one (1) year of experience in student services and financial aid programs are required. Two (2) years of related experience in federal financial aid in a higher education setting is preferred.  A successful candidate should have the ability to read, interpret and apply U.S. Department of Education

memorandum, policies and procedures. Additionally, a successful candidate must make accurate and sound decisions; understand the importance of prioritizing and meeting deadlines; and interact with other departments on campus on a regular basis.

SC State pay band: 05.  Minimum starting salary: $33,494.00.  Primary work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Minimal overnight travel, some nights and weekends will be required. Attendance at Financial Aid Workshops and professional development sessions are required. Requires work at times in the processing cycle beyond normal work hours.
