The College of Education and Human Development at Western Michigan University is a diverse and vibrant institution of professional education, preparing individuals annually for leadership in their fields. For the following position, responsibilities include teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses; engagement in service to the department, college, and university.
Terminal Faculty Specialist I: Work Force Education and Development
Degree Requirements: Master’s degree in a WFED/CTE/vocational area from an accredited institution.

Tenure-Track Assistant Professor: Elementary Education Social Studies/Curriculum and Instruction
Degree Requirements: Earned doctorate in curriculum and instruction with concentration in Social Studies or closely related field by August 2021.
Major Duties :
- Teach social studies methods courses
- Teach graduate courses in curriculum and instruction
- Collaborate with departments within the university and school partners
- Supervise teacher candidates
- Advise students
- Conduct research
- Seek external funding
Minimum Qualifications :
- Earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with concentration
in Social Studies or closely related field by August 2021
- Willingness and ability to teach and supervise undergraduate and graduate students on integrated social studies methods and content in innovative formats
- Experience in preparing students to develop and utilize best practices in elementary school settings
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, diversity, and equity
- Evidence of an established research program and a willingness to seek external funding
- Commitment to forging strong school, community and state partnerships
