Job Summary
The Help Desk Support Technician serves as a resource for student technicians in solving high level technical problems and manage computer labs.

Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Educate staff on security awareness, virus infections and password protection
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades for staff machines which includes
  • Manage all computer software and hardware in computer labs
  • Administer LPTOne printer services, oversee all system and software upgrades or requests and track computer inventory
  • Coordinate any resources necessary for labs during conferences, scheduled classes and training sessions
  • Coordinate support for staff members
  • Coordinate support for departmental computer labs
  • Coordinate support for special projects
  • Educate students on security awareness, virus infections and password protection
  • Resolve issues with virus infections, network connectivity and GSTV
  • Inspect and report faulty data jacks or ports
  • Inspect and replace faulty Cat 5e or Cat6 cables and coaxial cables
  • Maintain and address issues detected on vulnerability scan reports



Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent vocational/technical training

Required Experience
  • One (1) or more years of related work experience

Proposed Salary
$30,900 - $32,000
